Why Darjeeling - Darjeeling Tour Packages

Darjeeling is derived from the Tibetan words Dorji (thunder bolt) and Ling (place). In other words, it is the place where Lord Indra's thunderbolt or sceptre rested. It is situated at an altitude of 7000ft and is a tourist paradise. One can spend a few days here marvelling at the tea gardens with the backdrop of the Khanchendzonga range, taking leisurely walks on the Mall bargaining with the stall owners who line the promenade selling anything from hand knitted sweaters to jackets and local handicrafts or visiting the many monasteries and other attractions that make the place so enchanting. And when you are tired or need a break, sit at the benches on the Mall gazing at the Himalayan panorama or at the numerous tourists strolling around. For pastries step in at Glenary's, for hamburgers and milk shakes walk into Keventers, two of the oldest landmarks on the Mall.
