A lion with the face of a pharaoh, the 4,500-year-old Sphinx stands guard at Giza
From sunrise in the desert on the edge of the Great Sand Sea, to sunset over the granite mountains of the Sinai where they meet the shimmering azure of the Red Sea, Egypt is a kaleidoscope of verdancy - palm and sugar-cane offset by glimpses of robed people on white mules - framed by the distant crust of the western desert.
Skimming the cool waters of the Nile from the back of a faluca after a day of exploring underground tombs to just embracing the cacophony and confusion with the gusto of a Wanderer.
There are hundreds of nooks and crannies to visit...so much to discover in the land of Pharaohs, The Pyramids and the Sphinx; a million square kilometers of oasis and deserts, bordered by the blue Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the silvery green waters of the Nile. The early morning view captivates our soul...the wondrous and surprising vista; a ground mist obscuring the base of the pyramids, and all that you see is the summit triangles which seems to float on a bland whiteness, high above the desert against a pale blue sky. And with the dusk brings alive the famous souks and the most famous belly dancers.
Best time to pack your bags
We recommend October - May for main sights, and April-November for dive places. The northern winter is the high season, the only time of year when the desert heat is not so cruel, the sun not so intent on searing the mind.
