Why Kashmir? - Kashmir Tour Packages

Kashmir is often called the Switzerland of Asia. Beauty and Kashmir are synonymous. Bernier, the first European to enter the territory as early as 1665 AD, called it ‘A Kingdom of Unsurpassed Beauty’.

 

Kashmir is surrounded by Pakistan, India, China and Afghanistan with borders touching both South and Central Asia. It has a area that is thrice as large as the combined size of Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium.

 

Highlights: The drive from Udhampur to Srinagar as it crosses numerous mountain ranges, rivers valleys, the last part of the drive being truly spectacular; staying on a luxurious houseboat; an early morning ride in a shikara on the Dal lake; the Amarnath Yatra; the stupendous mountain views; the cuisine; the fabulous gardens.

Best Time to Visit: The weather in Srinagar is alpine. Summers (April-June) are mild and winters are cold (November-February). It experiences heavy snowfall in December-February. Heavy woolens are required in Srinagar in winter, white light to heavy are required in summer as well.
