After a legend, a long time ago, a Sumatran prince visiting the island of Temasek saw a strange animal, which he identified as a lion. Because of this good omen, he decided promptly to found a city there, which he named ‘Singapura’, or ‘Lion City’ in Sanskrit.
Singapore is a country with its head to the future and soul in its past. It is a place where East meets west and modernity blends in with Asian heritage. There are many tourist attractions that are worth exploring due to their unique charm. Don't be surprised if you feel it's an experience that changed a lifetime. You don't need to be young, just willing to enjoy holidays in Asia. All you need is a sense of Singapore. By means of few natural resources other than a strategic location and hardworking population, the futuristic metropolis of Singapore nevertheless enjoys the second-highest standard of living in Asia, behind only Japan. Unemployment and crime rates are low, that makes Singapore is also quite possibly the most downright beautiful modern metropolis in the world. Many Asian cities are unattractive and unorganized - Singapore is so clean and green that it richly deserves its self-proclaimed title as Garden City of Asia.
