Itinerary details for "5 Days Family Fun in Siem Reap tour package"

Day 1: Siem Reap

On arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Arrive at the hotel and check in. Lunch at hotel.

In the afternoon go on a bicycle tour to the majestic Angkor Wat. Ride from Siem Reap to Angkor Wat, following first the countryside trail and then the paved road of the small circuit. Stop and visit Angkor Wat, the Cambodia’s ancient temple city and one of the wonders of the oriental world.

Later enjoy an unforgettable sunset at the Tethered Balloon station. Discover the Angkor Heritage Site on a Tethered Balloon from 200 Meters above.

Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant with traditional Apsrara Dance Show.

Overnight at Siem Reap.

Day 2: Siem Reap

Breakfast at hotel. Start the day with a visit to the Roulos Group. Say hello to the children of Khmer Art Carving School (Children puppet show). Visit the surrounding village and Prolung Khmer Center.

Prolung Khmer strives to revive the ancient Khmer crafts of cotton weaving and pottery making as it provides skills and training to marginalize young Cambodian women at the same time. Exquisite Khmer pottery traces its roots as far as the pre-Angkorian Kingdom of Chenla and Funan, as archaeological diggings have discovered.

Lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

This afternoon, you can either chill out at the hotel, walk around the city on your own. Or you can go on a 2 hour horse trail ride to Wat Athvea. Ride through rice fields and villages to the small temple of Wat Athvea outside the tourist area. Make your way back through small temple paths far from the tourist crowds. For those who don’t ride horses, you can visit Wat Athvea on a horse cart.

Dinner and overnight at Siem Reap.

Day 3: Siem Reap

Breakfast at hotel. Start your visit on a Remork (Tuk Tuk) to the Great city of Angkor Thom. South Gate of Angkor Thom is one of the main and beautiful access gates to the temples.

Try another means of transportation and move on an elephant from the South Gate of Angkor Thom to Bayon temple (about 30 minutes). After this visit return to your hotel for lunch.

In the afternoon ride an ox or buffalo cart to take in the beauty of the surrounding landscape of Siem Reap. Discover seasonal farming methods and other daily activities of local people. Walk through rural communities, meet local families, and learn mat weaving and making traditional palm-leaf cakes boxes. Your visit ends at the local market to see the diversity of fresh countryside products.

Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Siem Reap.

Day 4: Siem Reap

Breakfast at hotel. This morning embark on the boat and take a ride on the Tonle Sap great lake. Visit the floating village. Go through the floating houses in small private boats.

Note: During the dry season (March– July), the low level of the Tonle Sap River does not permit visits to the fishing village on the Tonle Sap. The excursion will be replaced with a visit to the Silk Farm of Pok.

On the way back, visit the National Silk Farm and Workshop at Puok. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon visit the Cambodian Cultural Village. The Cambodian Cultural Village (CCV) has total area of 210,000 meter-square. The village assembles all the miniatures of famous historical buildings and structures, local customs and practices of all races.

Stop at Jayavarman VI Kanta Bopha hospital, one of the 3 children hospitals created by the Swiss Dr. Beat Richner. In these medical center each year around 40.000 kids receive treatment free of charge since the families are simply too poor to even make a small contribution towards these medical costs.

Enjoy dinner at local restaurant with Puppet Show before returning to your hotel.

Overnight at Siem Reap.

Day 5: Siem Reap - Departure

Breakfast at hotel. This morning visit the Les Artisans d’ Angkor. A complete visit of the Arts and crafts school will take you through the various training and production workshops of the les Artisans d’ Angkor.

Return to your hotel for lunch at hotel. Afternoon free at leisure until departure time whereby you will be transferred to Siem Reap airport for your flight back home.
